The Prime Ministers decision of appointing a Focal Person from the Federal Government is a welcome step. Amir Muqam is a political leader of the ruling party from Malakand Division of KPK and an advisor to the Prime Minister. His appointment, definitely indicates the PMs sympathy towards the victims of cruel floods which recently hit the ORSOON area of lower Chitral. As a direct nominee of the PM, Amir Muqam is in a better position to present the case of not only the affected people of ORSOON but all the affected people of JULY,2015 floods which randomly hit all the four corners of Chitral. Still, there are cases of compensation for damages lying pending in the Deputy Commissioner Chitral office. Still, the whole of Upper Chitral is in the darkness due to destruction of the Reshun Hydel power station. Still, half of the Mulkhow area including KOSHT,MORDER and GOHKIR are cut-off from other area due to destruction of bridge on river at KOSHT. And still, the whole area of Upper Mulkhow from MUZHGOAL to ZONDRANGRAM, is deprived of the truckable bridge due to destruction of the bridge on River MULKHOW at Muzhgoal. There is long list of doables and these are a few to say the least but to be taken at the top priority. Chitral people are now fed up with hollow slogans and broken promises. Amir Muqam should not confine himself to the power-point breafings at the Deputy Commissioner office only.He should visit headquarters of all the Five sub-tehsils of Chitral and hold open kucheries in order to know the ground reality. In order to assess and commensurate the allocated funds with the works done on ground,he should constitute a team for monitoring and appraisal. This team should also assess the works and inquire about the utilisation of funds amounting Rs.470.890 million released to the District Administration and its line departments from the PDMA,in JULY-September,2015. We may assure Amir Muqam sahib all the help and assistance in the larger interest of chitral.
