Conferene for CBO managers held in Booni

Tehsil Nazim Moulana Muhammad Yousaf was chief guest while the conference was attended by large number of CBO office bearers, elected local government representatives, government officers and bank officials. Talking about the objectives of the conference SRSP’s Human Resource Development Officer Kamal Abdul Jamil said that it was a step of capacity building and an opportunity of experience sharing and linkages development. He said that SRSP is committed in strengthening the CBOs which were important components in the success of GoKP’s community driven local development policy. Talking to conference audience Tehsil Nazim Moulana Muhammad Yousaf said that CDLD policy was a wonderful initiative for the local development. He emphasized the role of CBOs in implementing developmental schemes. He urged the CBOs to ensure quality of work. He said that active CBOs would play important role in local development and the local representatives would facilitate them. He appreciated the work of CBOs formed under the CDLD policy. Moulana Yousaf lauded the services of SRSP in strengthening the community institutions and its endeavors for poverty reduction and rural development. Earlier more than 20 CBOs, including women owned CBOs gave presentations and shared their experience with CDLD policy. They termed the policy vital for local development. Women activists appreciated the allocation of 15 per cent funds for women.
