Labourers stop work in Lowari tunnel

They said the foreign company has now reduced the salaries by a half and also has refused to pay overtime money. They said work on the tunnel will remain suspended till restoration of previous salaries and overtime payment. A labourer said they are not getting salaries according to labour laws in Pakistan. “They have also refused to pay dues of overtime which compelled us to stop the work. When we approached the company, they clearly told us to either work in these conditions or leave,” he said.
