Another feather in brave woman’s cap

nasreenGILGIT, Sept 7: Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif on Sunday honoured a woman from Gilgit-Baltistan with a special souvenir for her bravery and compassion to give shelter to 27 people during a sectarian mayhem in the Gilgit city on January 8, 2005. Nasreen Nasir had already the distinction of bagging the coveted Tamgh-e-Shujaat award from the President of Pakistan for her courage and valour and respect to humanity in giving protection to the 27 people at her home in the Gilgit city and saving their lives from the sectarian frenzy. The brave woman from Gilgit received the souvenir from the army chief during a function held at the GHQ to pay tributes to the martyrs of Pakistan on Defence Day. ]]>
