Nawaz visits flood-affected areas in Chitral

pmCHITRAL, July 22: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had an aerial vist of the flood-affected areas in Chitral and met people in Kuragh. Mr Sharif landed near the Govt Degree College Booni and visited Kuragh by road where a large number of people welcomed and chanted slogans in his favour.Chief Minister Pervez Khattak also accompanied the prime minister. Later, Mr Sharif flew back to the Chitral town. He was briefed on the relief activities in the flood-hit areas. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived here to visit the flood-devastated areas of Chitral on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Governor KP Mehtab Ahmed Abbasi, federal information minister Senator Pervez Rashid and climate change minister Mushahid Ullah Khan. Upon his arrival here, the prime minister was welcomed by Chief Minister KP Pervez Khattak and elected representatives of Chitral. The prime minister would be briefed on the flood situation and relief activities in the valley. He would also be visiting the flood-hit areas on a helicopter. We the people of Chitral thankful to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for his visit to Chitral and extend his support and also sharing his plan to develop Chitral particularly completion of Lawari Tunnel by the end of 2016. We hope that PM will fulfill his commitment and remain in the heart of the people of Chitral like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Pervaiz Musharaf when ensure his commitment as promised during his visit to Chitral. We can pray for continuation of his government as mandate has given to PML (N).
