Prices of saplings out of reach

BOONI, March 10: With the start of the tree plantation season, people of Booni and adjoining areas have moved to Booni to purchase saplings but the prices have gone up phenomenally. The residents said that the sapling of apple was selling for Rs200 each, apricot Rs210, peach Rs150, and mulberry Rs200. The PTi had also announced that about one million saplings would be planted in the area during the plantation season but so far there is no word about the provision of the saplings.—SN Peerzada]]>
