Lowari tunnel funding to go up by Rs.6 billion a year

ISLAMABAD, Jan 1: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has issued directives to increase the Lowari Tunnel funding by Rs.6 billion per fiscal year, said MNA Shahzada Iftikhar Uddin in a press release on Thursday.  It may be noted that on Nov 18, 2014, the MNA had written a letter to the prime minister seeking the allocation of Rs.6 billion per year for the completion of the Lowari tunnel. On Nov 24, the PM office had forwarded the letter to the authorities concerned for necessary action. Besides, the National Assembly Standing Committee on Planning and development and Reforms is scheduled to meet on January 8 where the inclusion of Booni-Shandur and Booni-Buzund (Torkhow) roads has been notified. The MNA Chitral is also a member of the committee.  ]]>
