Jirga resolves deadlock over construction of powerhouses

BOONI, Dec 31: A Jirga under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Mastuj Minhas Uddin here on Wednesday resolved the differences between the people of Booni and Awi over the construction of three power houses in the two villages. The 750 kilowatt power houses are being established in cooperation of the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP). The assistant commissioner succeeded in getting the people of the two villages agree to a 10-point agreement to end the deadlock. With the signing of the agreement, there is now no impediment in launching work on the project. The SRSP officials on the occasion said that with the resolution of all the differences among the local people, work on the projects would now be launched within a month.]]>
