Man held for allegedly stealing charcoal

CHITRAL, Nov 4: The police here have arrested a man on the charge of stealing nine barrels of charcoal from the site of the under-construction Chitral bypass. truckAccording to the SHO Chitral, Inspector Iqbal Karim, a local employee of Arshad Shaheen, a contractor from Dir, complained to the police that some nine barrels of charcoal had been stolen from the bypass road site. The police tipped all its checkposts on the Chitral-Peshawar road. During the search of a Peshawar-bound truck on Lowari top, the Chitral police recovered the stolen nine barrels charcoal and arrested Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of Nowshera. The police said Iqbal was working on the blacktopping of the bypass. The driver of the truck (DMR-1453), identified as Irshad, was also taken into custody.
