Meanwhile, the non-local furniture makers, mostly from Charsadda district, including Haji Gohar Hussain, Faheemullah and Bilal Khan, have appealed to the chief minister to save them from the excesses of the Chitralis.

The Chitralis subjected us to barbarism simply because we are strangers here while the constitution of the country allows us to carry on legal business in any part of the country.
They said that they provided fine quality furniture to the locals at cheaper rate and this was the only fault for which they were being subjected to torture. They also criticized the local administration for taking no action against the hooligans who had been intimidating them for the last one year.– Zahiruddin  ]]>

  1. These people are excellent furniture makers and have amassed Chitral especially by last decade. They buy timber from the smugglers and deforestation group within Chitral at any cost and after making varieties of beds, furniture and decoration pieces make their way by their secondary means to the cities to sell their product on up to twenty-fold of its price there. The forest office Chitral and Chitral district administration is powerless before the higher level supervision of these intruders. All is done openly but DFO has closed his eyes. It has become a big burden on Chitralis as not only the local forests are ruthlessly cut but also the price of wood is hovering more and more high.

  2. They arr the main culprits who are claiming innocence. The whole incident started when police raided and recovered timber from there store, which they were not legally entitled to use. Now instead of accepting their misconduct, they have started to allege that the local carpenters that they had informed the police, tried to torture them, so there were both hands involved in clapping!
