CM Sohail Afridi chairs a meeting to discuss Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC).

KPPSC Ordered to Announce PMS Vacancies by January

Peshawar, Nov 9, 2025: Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has directed the Establishment & Administration Department and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) to ensure the announcement of vacancies in the Provincial Management Service (PMS) by January 2026.

The chief minister instructed that preparations for advertising the new posts be initiated immediately.

Chairing a meeting, Afridi also called for the full digitization of all KPPSC processes and examinations. He said the government was committed to implementing reforms aimed at promoting merit, transparency and digital governance in line with former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.

“The effective use of technology and digitization will significantly improve both efficiency and transparency, while eliminating human interference and the culture of favoritism,” said CM Afridi. “We are focused on ensuring that all recruitment processes are based on merit, and we will prioritize the necessary resources to strengthen and enhance the capacity of the KPPSC.”

The chief minister also directed that the recruitment process be expedited with the adoption of new policies to ensure fairness. He said the number of daily interviews conducted by the commission be increased to speed up the hiring process.

During the meeting, officials gave a briefing on the performance, functions and challenges of KPPSC. They said from 2022 to October 2025, KPPSC issued 25 advertisements for recruitment in various departments, offering 6,917 positions. In that period, 434 ability tests and 17 competitive exams were conducted, leading to the recruitment of 6,286 candidates.

The meeting was attended by provincial cabinet members Meena Khan Afridi, Aftab Alam, Muzammil Aslam, as well as administrative secretaries from relevant departments and the Chairman of the Public Service Commission.

This decision is part of the provincial government’s broader push to modernize public service recruitment, ensure transparency, and improve governance standards in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The move toward digitizing the recruitment process is expected to help streamline procedures and offer a more efficient, transparent system for civil service appointments.
