Pakistan-Born Engineer Sells His AI Firm for $1.73bn

New York, Oct 27, 2025: In a landmark moment for Pakistan’s global tech community, Pakistan-born engineer and entrepreneur Rehan Jalil has reached a major milestone as his Silicon Valley–based company Securiti AI is being acquired by U.S. software powerhouse Veeam Software for $1.73 billion.

The deal ranks among the largest technology acquisitions of 2025 and underscores the growing influence of Pakistani professionals on the global stage. Veeam Software, a leader in data resilience and backup solutions, plans to integrate Securiti AI’s advanced data privacy, governance, and AI trust technologies into its platform, expanding its capabilities in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence security.

Following completion of the transaction, Rehan Jalil will take on the role of President of Security & AI at Veeam, where he will oversee global strategy in data protection and responsible AI development.

Rehan Jalil began his academic journey in Pakistan, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. He later completed a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Founded by Jalil, Securiti AI is recognized as a pioneer in Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), helping enterprises protect and govern sensitive information across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The company’s flagship Data Command Center platform has been widely adopted by global corporations for its automation and AI-driven compliance tools.

Industry observers say the acquisition not only marks a significant business milestone but also symbolizes the growing presence of Pakistani innovators in the global technology landscape.

The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approvals.
