CHITRAL: The district administration of Lower Chitral has imposed Section 144 on construction of any building/plaza without approval of its building plan from the tehsil municipal administration (TMA) concerned.
The ban has come into force and will remain effective for two months.
In a notification, Deputy Commissioner Anwarul Haq said the decision to impose the ban had been taken in the wake of rampant construction activities without approval of building plans.
The notification said the unauthorized construction activities were creating nuisance for the general public and tourists due to unavailability of parking spaces, sewerage and drainage system.
He said the participants of the monthly revenue meeting were of the opinion that the mandatory approval of building plans would have positive results. The concerned authorities would ensure the implementation of the ban.
Yes, recently the government had made survey about residential problems and n Chitral. My opinion was that the arrangement of general graveyards, water drainage and street path problems for the irregular influx in the town population. It’s the biggest problem that has given rise to disputes even.
If it was brought under some plan then these problems will cease to exist
Deputy Commissioner we want to see your resolve now how you implement it. First let’s take action the constructions are in place in different places including near airport. Once DC Khursheed Ahmad, had taken bold action against such illegal constructions, and sealed them. please first move against dangerous constructions in place near airport first, and let no construction unapproved.
There is nothing dangerous construction near the airport. Please do not bother common people. You cannot stop one from utilizing his land in the name of danger. If it’s ultimately dangerous, then buy the land from the owners and give them room elsewhere.
