Booni, March 2, 2026: An annual spring tree plantation drive has been launched by the Forest Division of Upper Chitral.
According to officials, each union council in the district has been provided with 5,000 saplings to ensure maximum tree planting and afforestation efforts.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by SDFO Alamgir, Focal Person to Deputy Speaker Afghan Raza, Shahida Parveen (nominated focal person for the plantation campaign by Suriya Bibi), VC vhairmen, local elders, women, and community members.
The participants formally inaugurated the drive by planting the first saplings, marking the start of the district-wide campaign.
