Chitral, Feb 15, 2026: A recent unpleasant incident between workers of Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf at Drosh has been amicably resolved.
The disagreement occurred at Drosh Chowk during Senator Talha Mahmood’s visit to Chitral, where leaders and workers of the two parties engaged in a heated exchange that led to a scuffle, raising fears of tension in the area.
However, the district administration and police intervened, recognizing the sensitivity of the situation, and played a key role in bringing both sides to the negotiating table.
Local elders of Drosh made special efforts to resolve the matter. Rising above political affiliations, both parties prioritized Chitral’s traditional values, brotherhood and peace and chose not to turn the issue into a matter of ego. During the reconciliation ceremony, representatives of both sides embraced each other, set aside their differences, and pledged to maintain an atmosphere of tolerance in the future.
Political and public circles have welcomed the reconciliation. Residents said Chitral is known for its traditional peacefulness and hospitality, and the peaceful resolution of the dispute reflects the community’s maturity and awareness. The efforts of the administration and police were also appreciated for taking timely action and preventing further deterioration of the situation.
It was stated on the occasion that tolerance and democratic norms would be promoted during political activities in Chitral to ensure that the region’s exemplary peace is preserved.
