
Booni, Feb 4, 2026: A Himalayan Ibex was hunted on Tuesday morning in Yukum Gol in Yarkhun Valley of Upper Chitral according to the Wildlife Division.
The hunt was carried out at 10am when Mr. Jamil Ahmad from Booni downed the animal from a distance of 160 meters.
Wildlife officials confirmed that the ibex’s horns measured 40 inches in length, indicating a mature trophy specimen.
The activity was carried out under the supervision of the Forestry, Environment & Wildlife Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and in compliance with provincial wildlife regulations.
The officials stated that regulated trophy hunting contributes to conservation, supports community development, and helps maintain healthy wildlife populations.
Yarkhun Valley is home to a variety of high-altitude wildlife species, including the Himalayan Ibex, and remains a key focus area for conservation and sustainable wildlife management programs.
