Chitral, Jan 20, 2026: The report of a postmortem conducted on the snow leopard found dead at Garam Chashma has been released by the Wildlife Department
According to the report issued by Veterinary Officer Imadullah, the snow leopard was approximately 12 years old and male.
The report stated that the wild car showed no signs of external injuries. However, it was found to be in an extremely weak and emaciated condition. The primary cause of death has been identified as indigestion and severe diarrhea.
It may be mentioned here that the snow leopard was found dead near What village of Garam Chashma on Jan 19. Local residents had seen the endangered species in the area over one and a half months back but the Wildlife Department moved only after it was found dead by the villagers.
