Chitral, Jan 14, 2026: A farewell ceremony was held at Police Lines Chitral in honour of the highly respected, professional and people-friendly officer, SP Investigation Lower Chitral Muhammad Shafi Shifa, on the occasion of his retirement.
The ceremony was organized by Lower Chitral Police and was attended by senior police officers, members of civil society, traders’ representatives and family members of the retiring officer in large numbers.
The chief guest on the occasion was Acting DPO Atiqur Rehman.
Addressing the gathering, speakers paid rich tribute to the long, distinguished and exemplary services of Muhammad Shafi Shifa in the police department. They said that throughout his career, he upheld professional integrity, sense of duty and the rule of law, while his competence and transparency in investigation matters set a benchmark for the younger generation of police officers.
Speaking on the occasion, the acting DPO stated that officers like Shafi Shifa are valuable assets of the police department. He added that through fair, transparent and merit-based investigations of sensitive cases, Shafi Shifa played a vital role in strengthening public trust in the police. Shafi Shifa was described as a highly courteous, dignified, dutiful and public-friendly police officer who earned respect and admiration from colleagues and the public alike due to his professional excellence, good conduct, unwavering honesty and polite demeanor. His services, speakers noted, will always be remembered with honour in the history of the police department.
In his farewell address, the retiring officer expressed gratitude to Lower Chitral Police, fellow officers and respected members of civil society for their support and affection throughout his service.
At the end of the ceremony, commemorative shields and gifts were presented to him by police officers, along with best wishes and prayers for a happy and prosperous retired life.
