Man from Dir Arrested with 15 Litres of Alcohol

Chitral, Jan 4, 2026: Targeted operations against individuals involved in the illegal drug trade and other criminal activities continue in Lower Chitral, said a spokesman for the police on Sunday.

Following special directives issued by District Police Officer (DPO) Rafatullah Khan, the police have intensified their efforts to curb criminal activities.

In a recent operation, a drug dealer was arrested in a targeted raid led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Circle Bumburat Ahmad Isa.

The arrested suspect, identified as Mohsin Rehman, a resident of Upper Dir, was caught with 15 liters of locally brewed alcohol. The police confiscated the illicit substance and registered a case against the accused at the Rumbur Police Station. Further investigations are currently underway to uncover additional details regarding the drug trade.

The operation was part of the ongoing efforts to rid the district of illicit activities, including drug trafficking, which poses a serious threat to the safety and well-being of the local community, especially the youth.
