Samina Baig Adds New Milestone to Her Legacy

ISLAMABAD, Dec 17, 2025: Renowned mountaineer Samina Baig has achieved another milestone by completing a ski expedition to the South Pole, becoming the first Pakistani woman to achieve this extraordinary feat.

Originally from Hunza Gilgit-Baltistan, Samina Baig braved some of the harshest weather conditions on Earth to complete the demanding journey. The expedition was part of the globally recognized Explorers Grand Slam, a challenge that involves reaching the planet’s most remote and extreme destinations.

Describing the achievement as the most challenging yet meaningful experience of her life, Samina said the journey tested her physical endurance, mental strength and belief in her dreams. She said perseverance, patience and self-confidence were essential at every stage of the expedition.
