Another American Hunts Markhor In Gahiret

Chitral, Dec 15, 2025: Another American hunter, Mr. Brain Neil Windham, has hunted a Kashmir Markhor this time at the Gahiret Community Managed Game Reserve under a Non-Exportable Hunting Permit.

According to officials of the Wildlife Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the hunter shot the animal from a distance of approximately 200 yards. The horn size of the hunted Markhor was recorded at 42 inches.

Officials claimed that the legal trophy hunting program plays an important role in wildlife conservation and provides financial benefits to local communities. Revenue generated from such hunts is shared with the local community to support development projects and conservation efforts.

A few days ago, an American citizen hunted a Markhor with 55.4 inch horn size at the Toshi Shasha area. He had paid 243,000 US dollars to the KP government for obtaining the permit under the trophy hunting scheme
