CHITRAL, Dec 13, 2025: A regional annual event aimed at highlighting the role of women in socioeconomic development was held in Chitral town, with participants from both Upper and Lower Chitral districts.
The event focused on recognizing women’s contributions to community development, promoting their economic and social roles, and raising awareness about the importance of gender equality. The participants included women leaders, community activists and both male and female role models who shared inspiring stories and practical experiences, according to the DC office.
During the event, successful women leaders and role models presented their journeys, emphasizing leadership, resilience, innovation and inclusive collaboration. Their stories not only motivated participants but also provided practical insights into women’s empowerment and their effective participation in community development at the local level.
Deputy Commissioner of Lower Chitral Rao Hashim Azeem attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, he stressed the importance of women’s leadership, gender inclusion and their vital role in local development. He noted that women’s empowerment and their active socioeconomic participation are key to achieving sustainable development in the region.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from participants to support women’s empowerment initiatives and strengthen inclusive development efforts across Chitral.
