CM Sohail Afridi chairs a meeting to discuss Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC).

E-Transfer Policy for Teachers Approved

Peshawar, Dec 12, 2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet approved a new e-transfer policy for teachers, aiming to revolutionize the province’s educational administration.

The policy will create a more transparent, merit-based system for teacher postings and transfers. It will consider key factors, including the duration of a teacher’s deployment, student-teacher ratios, and annual performance indicators when making transfer decisions.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said the policy would prioritize merit and transparency in teacher transfers. He called the e-transfer system an urgent and necessary reform. Afridi also said that despite receiving over 400 transfer requests, the government had rejected all under the old system, demonstrating a commitment to eliminating favoritism and corruption in teacher assignments.

He directed other departments to implement similar merit-based transfer policies, aiming to foster fairness and transparency throughout the provincial administration. This directive is part of the government’s broader effort to reform and streamline public service operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.

The e-transfer policy is expected to bring significant benefits, improving both teacher deployment and educational outcomes. By using objective criteria, the policy ensures that the right teachers are assigned to schools where their expertise can make the greatest impact, enhancing the quality of education for students.

The policy aligns with the provincial government’s long-term vision to reform the education sector, increase accountability, and improve public service delivery. If successfully implemented, it could set a precedent for other provinces, encouraging similar reforms and promoting meritocracy and transparency within Pakistan’s public sector.
