RAWALPINDI, Dec 11, 2025: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Thursday that former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) director general Lt Gen Faiz Hameed will serve 14 years of rigorous imprisonment for violating the Official Secrets Act.

A Field General Court Martial, acting under the Pakistan Army Act, convicted Hameed on all charges after determining that he compromised state security and misused classified information, it stated.

The court martial began proceedings against Hameed on August 12, 2024, and conducted a thorough investigation over approximately 15 months. The court examined all allegations meticulously. In addition to violating the Official Secrets Act, Hameed engaged in political activities, misused his powers and government resources, and caused unjust harm to others.

After completing the extensive legal process, the court found him guilty on all counts and confirmed that the trial followed all established legal procedures. The court granted Hameed full legal rights, allowing him to hire his chosen lawyers and enabling him to appeal the verdict through the appropriate legal forums.

The court also clarified that it will address other aspects of Hameed’s political activities, including his role in contributing to instability in the country, separately.
