Completion of Chitral’s Uplift Projects Govt Priority: Muqam

Delegation led by former MNA Shahzada Iftikharuddin meets federal minister in Islamabad.

Islamabad, Dec 10, 2025: Federal Minister and PML-N Khyber Pakthunkhwa President Engineer Amir Muqam has said that all development projects in Chitral would be completed on priority with the prompt resumption of work on Chitral-Shandur road.

He gave this assurance to a delegation from Chitral at a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday, days a statement issued by the PML-N Lower Chitral.

The delegation took up Chitral’s pressing issues and ongoing as well as upcoming development projects.

The delegation was led by former MNA Shahzada Iftikharuddin and included Molana Khaliquz Zaman, Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chitral, Molana Muhammad Shakur, Amir of the party’s Upper Chitral chapter, Molana Muhammad Yousaf, Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir and PML-N Mastuj Tehsil President Javed Lal.

During the meeting, the delegation briefed the minister on ongoing and pending initiatives in Chitral with particular focus on gas plants, Chitral-Booni-Shandur road and the proposed hospital and university in Upper Chitral’s district headquarters.

Engineer Muqam assured the delegation that all gas projects would be executed transparently and at an accelerated pace. He also stated that construction on the Booni-Shandur road would resume promptly, adding that the hospital and university projects would be prioritized to meet the region’s developmental needs.

Citing directives from the Prime Minister, he said that in the coming days, heads of all federal departments operating in Chitral would be convened for a joint meeting to ensure practical steps are taken for the timely resolution of the area’s challenges.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mehtar Aizaz Ahmed Arif, Coordinator of PML-N Lower Chitral, Dorosh Tehsil, expressed the people of Chitral’s expectations for the swift completion of these development projects.
