CHITRAL, Nov 14, 2025: The Lower Chitral Police on Friday said it traced and recovered Rs165,000 lost by a citizen in Chitral Bazaar within a few hours, thanks to the efficient functioning of the district’s Command and Control Centre.
According to the police spokesman, Muhammad Zahid Afnan, son of Muhammad Sadiq and a resident of Prayit Upper, reported that he had lost Rs165,000 in the Chitral Bazaar. Upon receiving the complaint, the staff at the Command and Control Centre began reviewing the CCTV footage covering the area.
The footage revealed that the lost cash had come into the possession of another citizen. Police promptly identified and traced the individual, and the amount was recovered.
SDPO Chitral Circle Sajjad Hussain summoned the individual to his office and returned the recovered cash to its rightful owner, ensuring justice and transparency in the process.
