Booni, Nov 14, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Mohammad Imran Khan formally inaugurated construction work on the Booni–Awi Road.
The project had been a long-standing public demand aimed at improving local connectivity and easing travel for residents.
In this regard, a ceremony was held in which community elders, political and social figures, students and officials from the relevant departments participated.
Addressing the participants, the DC said the chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had issued clear directives for the administration to remain actively engaged with the public, understand their issues and ensure that solutions were delivered promptly.
He described the Booni–Awi road as a critical infrastructure requirement for the area and emphasized that the district administration, along with the concerned department, will maintain strict oversight of the project’s quality and progress until its completion.
The DC added the project had been initiated through special development funds allocated by Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly Suriya Bibi, calling it a welcome contribution to the overall socio-economic development of Upper Chitral.
He assured local landowners that all outstanding payments and compensation for acquired land will be settled in full and without delay.
