ISLAMABAD, Nov 4, 2025: A gas cylinder explosion occurred in the canteen of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday morning, injuring several people and causing panic within the premises.
According to initial reports, the blast took place during maintenance work on the air conditioning gas plant. At least four people were injured in the incident and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Following the explosion, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) arrived at the Supreme Court to collect evidence and ensure there were no further risks. The explosion also caused damage to the canteen’s furniture and nearby equipment.
Eyewitnesses reported that the blast was so powerful that lawyers and staff inside courtrooms rushed outside in fear. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and assess safety lapses that may have led to the incident.
