DIR, Nov 1, 2025: A lecturer at Batkhela Degree College was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Lower Dir on Saturday, police said.
According to police, the incident took place in the Mian Barngola Deegan area, where unknown attackers forcibly entered the residence of lecturer Muhammad Usman and opened fire, killing him on the spot.
After committing the crime, the assailants managed to escape from the scene without being identified. Police said a case has been registered, and a thorough investigation has been launched to trace and arrest the culprits.
Law enforcement officials added that the motive behind the killing has not yet been determined.
The brutal murder of the college teacher has caused widespread grief and outrage among local residents, colleagues, and the academic community, who have demanded immediate arrest of those involved.
