CHITRAL, Oct 29, 2025: Police in Lower Chitral arrested a man and recovered 794 grams of charas from his possession during a search operation.
A police spokesperson on Wednesday said they stopped the suspect, Anas Ayub, a resident of Singoor, at the Bakrabad check post after finding his movements suspicious. A search of his belongings led to the recovery of the contraband.
SDPO Chitral Circle Sajjad Hussain and SHO City Police Station Inspector Ali Ahmad supervised the operation, while IHC Noor Hussain led the team at Bakrabad check post.
Police took the suspect into custody and said they are conducting further investigation.
Police in Lower Chitral routinely arrest drug peddlers but have failed to stop the supply network in which mafias from outside the Chitral valley are reportedly involved.
