HANGU, Oct 24, 2025: Three police personnel, including SP Operations Asad Zubair, were martyred and two others injured in an explosion in the Hangu district on Friday, police officials confirmed.
According to police, terrorists first detonated an explosive device targeting a police check-post in the Ghulmina area of Hangu. The explosion completely destroyed the post but fortunately caused no casualties or significant damage.
Following the initial blast, SP Operations Asad Zubair and his team were heading to the site to inspect the scene when their police vehicle was struck by another explosive device near Daraban.
The powerful explosion resulted in the martyrdom of SP Asad Zubair and two police constables, while two other personnel sustained injuries.
DSP Khanzaib Mohmand confirmed that the bodies and injured officers were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Hangu.
A heavy contingent of police has been deployed in the area, and a search operation has been launched to trace the perpetrators.
The incident has once again highlighted the persistent threat of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where police and security forces continue to render great sacrifices in the line of duty to maintain peace and stability in the region.
