Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka conducted the proceedings. During the hearing, the defence lawyers representing the accused, Umar Hayat, again failed to cross-examine the prosecution witnesses, which delayed the trial further.

Judge Majoka expressed strong displeasure over the defence’s repeated failure to conduct cross-examination and warned them to complete it at the next hearing.

He announced that if they fail to do so, the court will appoint a state counsel to carry out the cross-examination and move the case forward in accordance with the law.

“This is the last opportunity for the defence to cross-examine the witnesses,” the judge stated firmly.

The court adjourned the hearing and fixed October 23 for further proceedings.
