Police, DRC Members Discuss Security In Arandu

Chitral, Sept 27, 2025: Police officials and members of the Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) held a special meeting at Arandu Police Station to review the law and order situation and to discuss measures for strengthening security in the sensitive border town.

The session brought together participants who actively exchanged views on peacekeeping, vigilance, and joint action against suspicious activities.

DRC Chairman Qari Ahmad Faqir, Village Council Chairman Mahir Shah, and community elders including Haji Gul Sambar and Mehrab Gul joined the meeting along with other members.

They discussed ways to maintain peace, enhance coordination between the community and police, and ensure timely reporting of suspicious individuals, particularly in light of Arandu’s location near the Afghan border.

During the session, police officials reminded participants that Arandu’s proximity to the international border makes it one of the most sensitive areas of Lower Chitral. They urged citizens to stay alert and to immediately report the presence or movement of non-locals and suspicious persons, stressing that community cooperation plays a decisive role in preventing security threats.

Officials further emphasized that preserving stability in Arandu requires close collaboration between residents and law enforcement agencies, since the security of this border town directly influences peace across the district.

Police concluded that such initiatives demonstrate the principles of community policing, as they strengthen cooperation between citizens and security forces and ensure that border regions like Arandu remain secure, stable, and resilient in the face of emerging challenges.
