PML-N Leadership Faces Sharp Criticism at Workers’ Convention

Mulkhow, Upper Chitral, Sept 6, 2025: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers and leaders held a major convention in Mulkhow, Upper Chitral.

A large number of participants from across the district attended the event. The convention quickly turned into a platform of sharp criticism against the party’s provincial leadership. Speakers directly blamed provincial president Amir Muqam for weakening the organization. They accused him of sidelining ideological workers, ignoring grassroots voices, and failing to strengthen the party’s position in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The convention adopted a strong resolution. It declared that Amir Muqam distributed party posts through favoritism and personal choice. It said he avoided consultation with local cadres and denied them a meaningful role. The resolution charged him with failing to activate the party at the public level.

Participants warned that the workers’ voice would rise into a full-fledged movement if reforms did not begin immediately.

Speakers expressed anger over the neglect of Mulkhow. They condemned factionalism inside the district leadership and described it as a major obstacle. They demanded quick action for relief and rehabilitation of Shagram’s flood victims, who still suffer after the recent disaster.

The event also brought new faces into PML-N. Notable figures announced their entry into the party. They included Rizwanullah (former UC Nazim Kosht), Abdul Rahman, Irfan Ali, Rahmat Wali, Zahir Ali, Shahid Alam, Muhammad Aziz, Muzli Khan, and Imaduddin. Delegates welcomed their decision and called it a positive sign for the party’s future in Upper Chitral.

In the concluding session, participants stressed the role of young leadership. They praised Naeem Anjum for his efforts in activating party activities in both Upper and Lower Chitral. They urged the central leadership to support such dynamic figures. Speakers said young leaders could restore trust, energize workers, and reconnect the party with public aspirations.

The convention ended with a call to reorganize PML-N in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Delegates demanded an organizational structure that reflects the party’s ideology and meets the expectations of grassroots supporters.
