CHITRAL: Police in Lower Chitral on Friday burnt a large quantity of seized narcotics and liquor on court orders.
Senior Civil Judge (Admin) Farman Ali and SHO City Police Station SI Abrar Ahmed supervised the destruction at an open site.
The seized items included 49,102 grams of charas, 1,069 grams of ice, 831 grams of heroin, 283 grams of opium and 276.5 liters of liquor. They had been recovered in different cases registered at police stations across the district.
Police officials said the operation showed their resolve to rid Lower Chitral of drugs. They vowed that the crackdown on narcotics would continue without discrimination.
