Public Raise Key Issues At Open Forum

BOONI, Aug 21, 2024: Residents of Bumbagh, Charun, Kosht and nearby areas gathered at the Government Primary School Bumbagh to highlight major public issues.

The district administration in a statement said it organized the open forum under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Haseebur Rehman Khan Khalil. The event was part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Public Agenda to resolve issues at people’s doorstep.

Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Ihsan Afridi chaired the session. Assistant Commissioner (under training) Nazim Uddin, heads of line departments, elected representatives and local elders also attended.

Residents raised several key concerns. These included the delayed construction of the Charun–Zondrangram Road and the lack of classrooms at Government Primary School Bumbagh. People demanded clean drinking water and new pipelines for 40 households in Jamalandeh Kosht.

They also called for a ban on night matches at the local football/futsal ground and stronger efforts to stop drug use. Others highlighted the need for traffic police and control over transport fares.

Locals urged the administration to activate the health centre in Tor Khosht. They also requested for the construction of protective walls along the Bumbagh irrigation canal and repairs to the Charun–Bumbagh bridge.

At Government Girls High School Kosht, they asked for the appointment of an IT teacher and action against a contractor who did substandard work on the boundary wall.

Further concerns included repairing the Mozdeh Kosht water supply scheme, replacing old pipes, regulating saw machine rates and enforcing market and transport pricing.AC Ihsan Afridi instructed all departments to resolve these problems quickly and submit progress reports. Community elders thanked the district administration. They appreciated the open forum as a positive step to solve public issues directly and effectively.
