YARKHUN, Aug 15, 2025: A severe flood hit the remote village of Dewser in Yarkhun valley of Upper Chitral.
Local residents told ChitraToday that the homes of Shapir Khan and Pineen Khan collapsed completely. Both families are now living under the open sky.
Local residents are urging authorities to act immediately. They want the affected families relocated to safe areas and provided with shelter and essential supplies.
The flood destroyed crops, orchards, irrigation channels, and pipelines. Overflowing Yarkhun River now threatens nearby villages.
Despite fear and hardship, locals are trying to help themselves. However, they need urgent assistance to prevent more human and economic losses.
