Business Conference in Chitral Sets Path for Economic Growth

Chitral, Aug 13: The Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a business conference to promote trade and industry in the region.

Speakers discussed local opportunities, workforce skills, and challenges facing businesses. They stressed the need to equip youth with modern skills. They urged support and guidance to help young people join the business world.

Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral, Muhammad Hashim Azim, was the chief guest. He highlighted the talent in Chitral and the role of youth in driving economic growth.

He announced the launch of the “Emerging Chitral” Youth Development Program. The program will train selected educated youth for four months in skills like web design and graphic design. This will help them earn online from home. The program will also create sports opportunities for young people.

Haji Mehmood Azam, President of the Chamber, encouraged youth to become job creators instead of job seekers. He thanked the district administration and civil society for their support.

Sartaj Ahmad Khan, founding president of the Chamber, identified five key areas to boost business. He highlighted the reopening of Pak-Afghan trade routes as a major opportunity for the region’s prosperity.

Government Commerce College Principal Sahibuddin and other speakers shared insights on business growth.

The conference honored young entrepreneurs with Youth Excellence Awards for their success in various sectors.
