CHITRAL: After 12 years of disuse, the tennis court at Government Centennial Model High School Chitral has been fully restored and officially reopened.
Deputy Commissioner Rao Hashim Azim inaugurated the modern facility, marking a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to establishing 50 playgrounds across the region.
The renovated court offers students, athletes and tennis enthusiasts a world-class venue to hone their skills and compete, contributing to the growth of sports in Lower Chitral. Equipped with all necessary amenities, the court will be accessible free of charge to the public.
In his remarks, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the government’s dedication to promoting sports, highlighting their importance for physical health, discipline, teamwork, and fostering a spirit of healthy competition. Plans for further development of sports infrastructure in Lower Chitral are underway to nurture local talent and encourage community engagement.
