CHITRAL – July 29, 2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has appointed Dr. Fayaz Ali Roomi as the new Medical Superintendent (MS) of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Chitral.
The appointment was approved by the Chief Minister, and an official notification has been issued.
Dr. Fayaz Roomi is a senior public health expert with extensive experience in Chitral and across the province. He has served in key positions including District Health Officer (DHO) Lower Chitral, DHO Upper Chitral, EPI Coordinator, Deputy DHO, Deputy Director EPI, and most recently, National Coordinator for the HIV/AIDS Program. Known for his dedication and administrative skills, Dr. Roomi was awarded certificates of appreciation by the Health Department for his outstanding service as DHO Lower Chitral.
He holds a master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He has been actively involved in healthcare management in Chitral and has contributed to improving public health systems in the region.
