KURAGH, Upper Chitral – July 25, 2025: A 17-year-old student from Charun, Upper Chitral, tragically died after falling into an uncovered and unsecured well in the Kuragh area.
The victim, Fahim Ullah Baig, was an F.Sc. student known for his academic performance and dedication. According to his family, he was walking near the site when he accidentally fell into the open well, which had been dug without any safety cover, fencing, or warning signs.
\”This was not an accident, it was the result of carelessness,\” said a family member. \”Fahim was a bright student with a future ahead of him. His life was lost due to someone else\’s irresponsibility.\” Local residents are urging the government to take immediate action to prevent similar incidents and enforce safety laws around construction activities in Upper Chitral. Fahim Ullah was buried in his hometown of Charun. His tragic and preventable death has left the entire region in mourning.
