CHITRAL: In a major development, Lower Chitral Police have arrested a proclaimed offender who had been evading arrest for over 13 years.
A police team led by SHO Arandu, Inspector Qurban Khan, and supervised by SDPO Drosh, Mr. Iqbal Karim, apprehended Fatah-ur-Rehman, son of Shaista Khan, a resident of Lachi Gram, Damel. The arrest took place during a targeted operation conducted in connection with an old criminal case.
The accused was wanted in FIR No. 57, dated June 9, 2011, under Sections 324, 427, 34, and 512 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). He was declared a proclaimed offender after absconding for years, and had remained a top target for local police.
This arrest is part of Lower Chitral Police’s ongoing operations to track down long-wanted criminals and bring them to justice.
Authorities say the campaign against absconders and proclaimed offenders across the Chitral district will continue.
