Minority students in Rumbur given scholarships

RUMBUR: The Auqaf Department in collaboration with the district administration of Lower Chitral distributed scholarships among deserving students and financially struggling families belonging to the Kalash minority community in Rumbur Valley.

The scholarship distribution ceremony took place under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rao Hashim Azeem, who was the chief guest on the occasion. The event was also attended by officials from relevant departments, Levies officers, and local elders.

Speaking at the event, the deputy commissioner praised the initiative, calling it a vital contribution to promoting education in the far-flung valleys of Chitral.

“Education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for social development. These scholarships will not only help deserving students pursue their academic goals but also provide much-needed financial relief to underprivileged minority families,” he said.

He assured that the district administration will continue to support all public welfare initiatives that aim to uplift marginalized communities across Lower Chitral.

This initiative reflects the government\’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity, equal opportunity, and educational development in remote areas like Rumbur, known for its unique Kalash culture and heritage.
