CHITRAL: The Wildlife Division has launched a major operation to create fire lines across various parts of Chitral Gol National Park.
Teams are actively working in areas including the forests of Zarmat, Bimogh Lasht, and other key zones within the national park to establish these crucial firebreaks.
A fire line is a narrow strip of land that is cleared of all vegetation and flammable material to prevent the spread of wildfires. By removing this \”fuel,\” fire lines serve as barriers that help in containing or completely stopping forest fires.
These preventive measures are a vital part of wildfire management and play a key role in protecting the park’s unique ecosystem, wildlife, and natural resources.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to preserving Chitral’s rich natural heritage and have urged the public to cooperate in wildfire prevention efforts, especially during the dry season.
