ISLAMABAD: Sirbaz Khan from Hunza has climbed all the world’s peaks above 8,000 meters without using supplemental oxygen. He is the first Pakistani mountaineer to achieve this feat.
Sirbaz reached this milestone today by summiting Kangchenjunga, which stands at 8,586 meters, in Nepal.
The 38 years old from Aliabad Hunza in Gilgit-Baltistan had already climbed all 14 of the world’s highest peaks by last year, but during his initial ascents of two of them, he had used supplemental oxygen. In order to achieve this historic milestone, She needed to climb Annapurna and Kangchenjunga again, this time without oxygen.
He successfully summited Annapurna last month, and today he climbed Kangchenjunga without oxygen, completing his historic achievement.
