CHITRAL: Deputy Commissioner Mohsin Iqbal chaired a meeting to review preparations for the upcoming Chilim Joshi Festival, a prominent religious and cultural event of the Kalash community.
Officials from the district administration, police, tourism department, rescue services, communication and works department and other relevant agencies attended the meeting.
The participants discussed security arrangements, traffic and parking plans, road conditions and facilities for tourists. They decided to set up price monitoring desks in the Kalash valleys during the festival to prevent overpricing. They also agreed to establish tourist facilitation centers and ensure proper arrangements in hotels, with special attention to facilities for female tourists.
Officials briefed the deputy commissioner on the ongoing preparations. He directed all departments to complete the arrangements promptly and take effective measures to guide and protect tourists during the festival.
The deputy commissioner emphasized that the district administration values the religious traditions of the Kalash community and remains committed to ensuring the peaceful and successful conduct of the festival. He added that the event plays a vital role in boosting tourism in the region.
