CHITRAL: The Chitral Lower police recovered 20 pieces of emerald, an SMG and Rs200,000 cash stolen from a house in Arkari valley and arrested two suspected thieves.
In a statement, the police said that the recovered emerald was worth Rs1.4 million.
It said that Nasir Khan, son of Dost Muhammad, a resident of Phasti village, had filed a report at the Arkari police station about the theft in his house a few days ago.
On the direction of District Police Officer (DPO) Iftikhar Shah, SP investigation Atiqur Rehman formed a special investigation team, comprising SHO Arkari Inspector Qurban Khan and others.
The investigation team, after collecting information from various sources, in a very short period of time arrested Mohsin Ali, son of Mohammad Asghar Khan, and his accomplice Younus Khan, son of Adil Khan of Phasti village, and recovered the stolen 20 pieces of emerald worth Rs1,400,000, one SMG worth Rs200,000 and Rs200,000 cash.
The police were investigating the arrested persons for their possible involvement in any other cases.
