CHITRAL: A teenage girl has committed suicide in Ayun village of Lower Chitral, her family told police.
The police said that the 15-year-old daughter of Ramzan Shah of Sehan locality of Ayun reportedly consumed tranquilizer. She was rushed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Drosh where she died.
The family told police that the girl was suffering from mental disorder, but it is yet to be confirmed if she had any such medical issue.
After postmortem at the hospital, the dead body of the girl was handed over to the family for burial.
Many cases of suicide in the past have turned out to be cold-blooded murders in Chitral.
In one such case about seven months back, a man reported to the police that his 15-year-old daughter had committed suicide by firing on way back home in a village from Chitral town.
However, during police investigation it transpired that she had been shot dead by a relative travelling with her in the same vehicle. The police arrested the shooter along with the father of the girl.
