LAHORE: In a savage act, a man killed his wife along with his seven children in a village located in the Alipur tehsil of Muzaffargarh in Punjab.
Police in the area told media that the man used a dagger to kill the children and their mother in their sleep. The motive behind the gruesome act could not be known.
The police have arrested the man and investigating him. The victim children were aged from six months to 12 years.
The police said that the killer was mentally fit and told investigators that he eliminated his entire family after being fed up with his wife\’s frequent quarrel with him over petty issues.
Domestic violence is common in the province of Punjab. About a week back, a man shot dead his three minor daughters and committed suicide in Sargodha.
A few days before that incident, a youth shot dead his would-be brother-in-law and his wife and committed suicide in Samanabad area of Lahore.
