PESHAWAR: Professor Dr Ali Muhammad Khan assumed charge as the acting vice chancellor of Islamia College University Peshawar.
In this regard, a notification has been issued by the Higher Education Department, Khyber Pakthunkhwa.
\”Dr Ali Muhammad brings with him an impressive academic and administrative background, boasting 25 years of teaching and administrative experience,\” said a statement of the university.
Upon assuming the charge, Dr Ali Muhammad held an introductory meeting with the registrar and other staff. He committed to putting in unwavering efforts day and night to foster the development and progress of the university.
Talking to ChitralToday, Prof Dr Ali Muhammad said that ICP is an excellent educational institution with a glorious traditions and it is an honor for him to be appointed as the vice chancellor of one of the oldest and prestigious institutions of the subcontinent.
He said that the government of KP had given him the responsibility of the administrative affairs of the university for which he thanked them.
He stated that his first priority was to solve all the problems related to teachers, employees and students of the university, which they have been facing in the last few years.
He said he would play his due role for further development of Islamia College University. He said he would make strong efforts and to further improve the quality of education and lay the foundation of such initiatives which would improve the global ranking of the university.
Professor Ali Muhammad said all affairs of the university would be run in accordance with the rules and regulations and collective efforts would be made in making it one of the top educational institutions in the world.
Professor Ali Muhammad holds a PhD degree in zoology from the Punjab University and has vast experience in teaching.
